Beach Towel - Fortyfoot

The iconic Forty Foot can be found at the southern tip of Dublin Bay around the corner from Sandycove.

Here people have been swimming all year round for some 250 years. It was a men-only bathing location until July 1974 when it was invaded by women, many of whom have been swimming there ever since.

It was notable with writers James Joyce, Samuel Beckett and Brendan Behan.
